Creating a Design and User Research Toolkit for Environmental Data

PROJECT LINK

I led the design and development of a comprehensive Co-Creation Toolkit aimed at facilitating the creation of user-friendly and effective environmental data services. Recognising the challenges in translating complex data into accessible and engaging products, I led the initiative to help researchers, developers, and designers in co-designing solutions with end-users.

The toolkit provides a structured framework, incorporating user research methods, prototyping techniques, and best practice guidelines.  It emphasises the importance of understanding user needs, gathering feedback, and iteratively refining products to ensure they are both valuable and user-friendly. By promoting a collaborative approach, the toolkit enables stakeholders to actively participate in the design process, fostering a sense of ownership and ensuring the final products truly address the needs of the users.

A key aspect of my role involved coordinating with subject-matter experts, designers, and user researchers working with environmental data to curate and structure the toolkit's content. This ensured the inclusion of diverse perspectives and expertise, resulting in a robust and practical resource. The toolkit is designed to be adaptable and scalable, allowing for its application across a wide range of environmental data projects and initiatives.
